Coaching - FAQs1. Why do people hire a coach?People usually hire a coach because they want more from their life or work. Your coach is your partner, your champion, your trainer, your co-designer, your wake up call, your shining light during the stormy times and your inspiration. Your coach sees potential in you that you may not see in yourself and supports you to bring that potential forth. 2. What benefits might I get from coaching?While the benefits of working with a professional coach are varied and individualized, by working with a coach you may expect the following: a higher quality of life, improved relationships, greater and sustainable results, improved focus and clarity both personally and professionally, stronger communication skills and improved performance. 3. How to find a Life Coach?While anyone can use the term coach, the International Coach Federation (ICF) is the organization that represents excellence in coaching. When looking for a coach, check that they are an ICF member and have received their coach training through an ICF accredited coaching program www.coachfederation.org The ICF grants the following designations: ACC (associate certified coach), PCC (professional certified coach) and MCC (master certified coach). 4. How do I become a Life Coach?The ICF website www.coachfederation.org lists all ICF accredited training schools. Some of the most established coaching schools are: Coach U, Coaches Training Institute and Erickson College. Corporate Coach U and Royal Roads provide excellent corporate and executive coaching programs 5. How much does coaching cost?The cost of coaching depends on what type of coaching you want and the experience and training of the coach and usually ranges from $250-700 per month. Coaches work with clients in person, over the phone and virtually. |
